After giving birth to her first child, Malibu Barbie, on Sep. 14, 2022, controversial reality TV celebrity Trisha Paytas has announced she is 14 weeks pregnant with a baby to be named Elvis.
This will be her second child with Moses Hacmon, her husband of three years.
Since 2007 Paytas, an internet celebrity who has appeared on American Idol, and My Strange Addiction, on which she claimed she had an addiction to fake tanning, Paytas has made controversial social media posts, including dressing up and dancing like an “ancient Egyptian,” and pretending her husband is paparazzi.
Naomi Simpson ’24, feels Paytas expanding her family is a positive thing.
“Trisha has been a great mother to Malibu Barbie so far, though she still is making some questionable videos,” Naomi said. “She is very respectful of her daughter and she seems very happy. I look forward to seeing her family grow.”
Paytas shared on multiple episodes on her successful YouTube channel, as well as in Newsweek, that she was struggling with infertility.
“When Moses and I got engaged and started trying to conceive … No baby came and I was really sad,” she said. “We always took tests and they always were bad—they were negative … I was so stressed. I thought, ‘I will never be able to give this person a kid, or me.'”
Hacmon, 46, married Paytas in 2021; prior to this Hacmon was a Youtuber. Paytas met Hacmon through Ethan Klein, with whom she co-hosted the podcast “Frenemies.” Klein. Klein is Hacmon’s brother-in-law.
Aerin Kelly, 24, is excited for the high-profile couple.
“I’m really happy for her and I think becoming a mom has changed her character for the better,” Aerin said. “And I’m very happy that her dream came true for having a family.”
Paytas announced the newest addition to her family through a TikTok.
Tessa Legere ’25 follows Paytas on TikTok and often finds the wannabe celebrity’s videos “weird.”
