Williston has another student who has branched out into the business of fashion.
Jacob Waah, a senior day student, has started his own hoodie brand, “Ineffable Feelings.” The message behind the Ineffable Feelings, which have been seen all over campus the past three weeks, is TOO GREAT or EXTREME TO BE DESCRIBED IN WORDS. Similar to Senior Nora Curtis, Jacobs had shared his hoodies on campus and has gained massive support from fellow students and staff.
Jacob and two lifelong friends started Ineffable Feeling in 2023, but it was more of an idea than a business. Once Jacob and his friends turned 18, it was time to fully start the business. Jacob wants the hoodies, which are $60, to allow people to express their individuality.
“We wanted the brand to unify different groups of people in Western Massachusetts under a positive message and provide them with new ways to express their feelings and personalities through our clothes,” Jacob said. “Ineffable has become a family and community, thanks to our social media following and supporters worldwide, which we greatly appreciate.”
One of the biggest challenges Jacob and his business partners faced was the price of starting the company, and the competitive market.
“Getting your brand out their can be a big challenge, as you are competing with other brands, different niches, algorithms, and more,” he explained. “People will hate if you’re doing something successful regardless of what it is, but designing clothes and making a brand will receive hate from trolls or people who either dislike you personally or your message. All that, however, is overcome-able.”
Jacobs goal is to go global.
” We want kids, adults, and celebrities all wearing Ineffable and loving the message and feel of the clothes,” he said. “We plan on using this to shine a light on ourselves and our upbringing and inspire people around the world to follow their dreams and expand their creativity. We also want to bring a lot of our friends up too, whether they become brand ambassadors or help with marketing or things like that. Moral of the story: we want Ineffable Feelings to impact the world.”
When walking to and from class the “Ineffable Feeling” are all over campus, However, students received and email Mar. 31 that they are not in dress code. “After much consideration, I want to remind students that these sweatshirts do not conform with the Williston Dress Code and should not be worn during the academic day. Only sweatshirts, crew neck or hoodie, that bear official Williston insignias are allowed under our current dress code.”
This leaves student upset about not being able to support their friend’s business venture during the academic day. You may, of course, wear them outside of the academic day, and a look around campus today (April 4) made it clear just how popular the brand already is.
Brooks Connors a junior Boarder from Rye, N.H., is a fan of the hoodies. He not only likes the design but the quality of the hoodies, and says “all of my friends have” one of the sweatshirts.
Tyl Dingle, a boarding student from Roosevelt, N.Y., has one of the Ineffable Feelings hoodies; he likes the puff print of the letters on the hoodie, and adds that “the hoodie is very thick and warm, which plays a huge factor in its comfortability.”
