The Patriots have completely reconfigured their coaching staff.
Owner Robert Kraft has hired Mike Vrabel as head coach and Josh McDaniels as the offensive coordinator. Terrell Williams has been brought in to coordinate the defense. The new revised staff gives pats fans hope that success is not long down the road at Gillette Stadium in Foxboro.
Many Patriots fans see Mike Vrabel, who joined the team on Jan. 12 as the perfect hire. Richard Yu-Hwang, a junior from Miami, certainly agrees with the majority.
“It’s a great hire because he introduces team identity as well as brings strong team culture,” aid Richard. “He is also a great game manager.
Vrabel Replaces Head Coach Jared Mayo, who in one season only won four games. McDaniels will take over the play calling duties, and the responsibility of the Development of Drake Maye over From Previous Offensive Coordinator Alex Van Pelt. Williams takes over the Defensive Coordinator Duties from Demarcus Covington, who was fired.
Vrabel has been noted as one of the best coaches to play for by players and NFL insiders. He is extremely easy to connect with because he himself was a player in the league, most recently back in 2008 when he played for the Patriots.
Riley McDonald, a day student from Easthampton, is also pleased with the hire.
“He is a good coach who has a strong resume and is really good at getting players to buy into a system,” said Riley.
Vrabel’s resume is strong. He brought a bottom of the barrel Tennessee Titans franchise back to relevance, and helped running back Derrick Henry emerge as one of the NFL’s biggest superstars. The Titans were 3-13 before Vrabel arrived and he turned them into a playoff team.
Junior Dean Ruksnaitis, from Worcester, Mass, believes Vrabel will make New England a more desirable destination.
“He has good experience and will be good for new England, because Vrabel and Josh will make it a place that players want to play,” he said.
As Dean mentioned, offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels will have a huge role in the success of the Patriots. After a brief hiatus from coaching, the charismatic, Energetic play caller is back with the Patriots, a place where he has had plenty of success, helping New England win three Super Bowls, in 2014, 2016, and 2018.
Now McDaniels will be crucial in the development of New England’s next franchise quarterback, Drake Maye.
Expectations are always high in New England; since 2001 New England has won the Super Bowl six times, and gone to the Super Bowl a total of 10 times. Hopes are that Vrabel will have them back in the big dance in the near future.
