Astrology has become a popular topic among Gen-Z’ers who believe zodiac signs might shape their personality and relationships.
Sophie Ly, a confident Leo, believes her sign plays a significant role in her character.
“I can be really outgoing and love being the center of attention, which is so typical of Leos,” she explains.
Sophie checks her horoscope almost daily, finding it entertaining to see if it aligns with her life events despite the controversy around this topic.
“Some people might say that this is religious, but for me, it’s fun to see if it actually aligns with what’s happening in my life,” she adds. Sophie also feels compatibility between signs is real, noticing that she usually connects well with other fire signs like Aries and Sagittarius.
In contrast, Luna Nguyen, a practical Virgo, takes a more reserved stance on astrology.
“I’m not super into astrology, but I do think some of the traits described for Virgos fit me,” she said, highlighting her detail-oriented nature. After having her birth chart read, she found it intriguing. “It made me think about things in a new way,” she said.
At the end of the day, both of them agree that astrology can offer unique insights into self-discovery, making it a more effective tool for exploring the personality that lies deeply within themselves.
Jake Liu has studied the rise of astrology among young adults.
“Astrology’s revival among Gen Z isn’t about blind faith,” Liu explained. “It’s more about using it as a tool for self-reflection and community building in a world that often feels chaotic and uncertain. They are looking for ways to understand themselves and their place in the world. It provides a sense of narrative and meaning.”
He also notes that the internet has played a large role in the spread of astrological information.
“Social media platforms have made astrology more accessible and shareable, which has contributed to its popularity,” Liu added.
